About Me
I am Marco Steuri, a Swiss entrepreneur who has been living in Thailand for many years. During my time as the CEO of an international senior care resort, and through close collaboration with seniors, families and healthcare professionals, I gained extensive experience in senior living and elderly care in Thailand.
Today I focus on developing living concepts for international seniors and helping people find suitable options for retirement in Thailand.
My Professional Journey
Early Career in Switzerland
I began my professional life with an apprenticeship as a sales person in a Do it Yourself store. It was a hands on role that taught me the essentials: understanding people, listening to their needs and helping them find the right solutions.
Studies in Switzerland
Although I enjoyed my work, I realised that my long term opportunities for growth were limited. I returned to school and completed a Masters degree in Business Administration with a major in Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Growth.
Work Experience in Switzerland
During and after my studies I worked part time as a Project Manager and Financial Controller. These roles gave me insight into structured work, financial responsibility and how organisations operate.
First Business Venture
After completing my studies, I co founded an online marketing agency with a friend. We built our own websites and supported companies in improving their visibility in Google search results.
Arriving in Thailand
After moving to Thailand, I worked as an Online Marketing Consultant for a company based in Bangkok. During this time, I had the chance to provide online marketing consulting services to a nursing care resort in Chiang Mai, in the northern part of Thailand. When staying at this resort, I was deeply impressed by the respect, warmth and genuine care Thai nurses showed towards their guests.
Engagement in a Nursing Care Resort
My consulting role at this nursing care resort soon developed into the biggest professional challenge of my life. Shortly after the outbreak of Covid, the investors asked me to look after the business as the resort was facing major financial and operational difficulties. My task was clear: turn the resort around and find new investors.
Despite a minimal marketing budget and only a handful of remaining guests, we managed to rebuild trust, improve operations and steadily attract new residents. Almost all inquiries came through organic search on Google.
By 2024, the resort became operationally profitable for the first time in its ten year history, and I successfully concluded negotiations with a new investor. After that, I stayed on briefly as CEO before handing over to a new management team.
My New Venture
Today, I am developing new living concepts for senior foreigners in Thailand. Over the years I have gained deep insight into what foreigners truly need when seeking assisted living or nursing care support abroad.
My vision is to work with strong local partners in hospitality and healthcare and to eventually build my own residences that offer peace, dignity and a high quality of life.
My Vision
I believe in creating living concepts in Thailand where western quality meets Thai hospitality. My mission is to build a network of assisted living and care facilities that are:
- Compassionate
- Affordable
- Designed for Western expectations
- Rooted in Thai warmth and professionalism
- Affordable services without compromise
